Winter Sonata: 3 versions

This is the original version of the romantic song 'Winter Sonata'

This is a parody version produced by a quite 'perasan' Malaysian.

This is the Malay version of Winter Sonata, 'Sonata Musim Salju'.

Language matters

I received a message from Margaret Mugin. A friend of mine. She said she don't know that I am very much on Hindi movies. It is not to say that I am obsessed on Hindi but it is what I learned from the songs and movies. I am a verbal lingustic person. From Hindi I learned a lot on the vocabulary. For example I know the origin of certain words such as in the song "Pardesiyon Sena", the word Pardesiyon is a Hindi word that is originated from arabic word and English also uses it. This means we are all same. Same in the sense of we share many common things. So nobody will be above or below anyone. No ranking for humans. We come from the same ancestors. Look at the similarities below.

Hindi-Pardes
Arabic-Firdaus
English-Paradise

Learn other language as well so that we will know each other better. PEACE!

Zafana of Johore

I was in Johor for about nearly 10 years. Since I was in Teachers Training College. I have learned so many things about Johor and have been in most of its towns. The only thing that I like about Johor is its arabic and local Malay mixture traditional dance. The ZAPIN. Johorean are obsessed to ZAPIN. Not only Malay like them but other races too. One of Chinese vernacular primary schools had won first place prize for one zapin championship (I do not remember the competition). Here in this clip, a Johorean from Kulai is singing a song called 'Zapin Budi'

I am no poet....

Beautiful words...

I am no poet
but my pretty one
eversince I have seen you
poetry just dawned upon me...

I had heard of love, no doubt
but I didn't know what love was
I remained confused as confusions generally are...
and remained an enemy among friends

Yet I am no foe
but my dear pretty one
having seen you..
I have learnt to make friends

Again, wonder where are they from..? click01 or click02

There's no bargaining in love

Guess where this poetic words come from?

I don't want any gold or silver
I seek not diamonds and pearls
of what use are they for me?
I won't ask for a bungalow
nor a carriage driven by horses
They are all just for name sake

Instead give me your heart
in exchange of mine
So take it
It's all yours, Sir
There's no bargaining in love

The unfinished journey

The 'sajak' shapes my teaching perspectives. It inspires me.
